The Colosseum

Explore the Colosseum, Rome’s iconic ancient amphitheatre. Discover its remarkable architecture, learn the stories of gladiators and emperors, and uncover the social and historical significance of this Roman masterpiece. Step inside to see where ancient Romans gathered for grand spectacles, and hear fascinating tales of engineering, politics, and life in the Empire. This is an experience that brings history vividly to life for visitors of all ages.

The Palatine Hill

Just above the Roman Forum lies Palatine Hill, where Rome was founded on 21 April 753 BC. This is where the city’s first nucleus took shape, and where the residences of kings, emperors, and prominent citizens once stood. Chosen by Romulus for its central and elevated position, Palatine Hill offered both strategic protection from attacks and safety from the frequent flooding of nearby rivers. Walk in the footsteps of Rome’s earliest inhabitants, uncover the legendary tale of Romulus and Remus, and explore the ruins of the imperial palaces that once dominated the hill.

The Roman Forum

A short walk from the Colosseum lies the Roman Forum, the political, religious, judicial, and financial centre of Rome and the Roman Empire. This is where a small city on the Palatine Hill grew into the heart of one of the greatest empires in history. Here, the Romans developed the politics, laws, and administrative systems that continue to influence the modern world. Originally marshland, the Forum was transformed during the regal period into the city’s social, religious, and political hub. Wander among the ruins of temples, basilicas, and the Senate House, and imagine the daily life of Rome’s citizens and rulers. Visiting the Roman Forum is a journey into the very heart of the Roman Empire, where history comes vividly to life.

Vatican Museums

Though the smallest country in the world, Vatican City is home to some of the most important monuments and artworks in history. At its heart lies St. Peter’s Basilica, the most renowned church in Christianity and one of the earliest ever constructed. Its origins date back to the 4th century, when Emperor Constantine commissioned the first basilicas of Rome, including St. Peter’s and St. John. On this tour, you’ll uncover the rich history of the Vatican, learn about the visionary artists who contributed to its masterpieces, and discover why this tiny enclave was chosen as the spiritual and artistic centre of the Catholic world.

Sistine Chapel

After exploring the Vatican Galleries, you will arrive at the Sistine Chapel, where you can admire its breathtaking ceiling frescoes and Michelangelo’s dramatic Last Judgement on the altar wall. Originally known as the “Cappella Magna” (the Great Chapel), it takes its current name from Pope Sixtus IV, who restored it in the 15th century. Over the centuries, the chapel has served both religious and administrative purposes and remains today the site of the Papal Conclave, where a new pope is elected. Thanks to your skip-the-line access, you can enjoy the chapel before the general opening hours, taking in the artistry in relative tranquillity and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
