Itinerary

Meeting Point

The meeting point is at Largo Gaetana Agnesi, 5, situated on the terrace above the Colosseum Metro Station. We are near the small bridge, in front of a school with pink walls: look for our coordinators wearing dark blue “City Walkers” t-shirts. If you’re at the Metro Station entrance, please head upstairs. Please arrive 20 minutes earlier, late arrivals may not be granted entry.

The Colosseum

The Colosseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre, is a remarkable oval structure in the heart of Rome, constructed from travertine, tuff, and brick-faced concrete. As the largest amphitheater ever built in ancient Rome, it stands just east of the Roman Forum. Its construction began under Emperor Vespasian in 72 AD and was completed by his successor, Emperor Titus, in 80 AD

The Roman Forum

The Roman Forum, also known as the Forum Romanum, is a central plaza surrounded by the ruins of several important ancient government buildings in Rome. Originally a bustling marketplace, it was the hub of public life in ancient Rome, where citizens gathered for various civic activities. The ancient Romans referred to it as the Forum Magnum, underscoring its significance. Immerse yourself in the ancient culture and explore the daily life and traditions of Rome’s predecessors.

The Palatine Hill

The Palatine Hill is one of the Seven Hills of Rome and is centrally located in the city. It is one of the most ancient parts of Rome, standing about 40 meters above the Roman Forum and overlooking the Circus Maximus. This hill was a prestigious residential area in ancient Rome, where the emperors’ imperial palaces were constructed, including those of Augustus. The Palatine Hill is rich in history and offers a unique glimpse into Rome’s regal past.
